History & Staff
We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.
Our History
The National Association of Chevra Kadisha has had a strong presence in Florida since its inception and strengthened that presence even further in 2013 when it hired it’s first Florida Regional Director. With the mission of promoting Jewish burial, it didn’t take long to realize that many people were choosing cremation because the cost of burial was so high that it was prohibitive for many people. Furthermore, with Jewish funeral homes advertising cremation, and Jewish cemeteries accepting cremated remains, there was a lot of confusion about Judaism’s view of cremation.
NASCK realized that South Florida needed a cemetery that was truly by, of, and for the Jewish community. A cemetery dedicated to providing an authentic Jewish burial for every Jewish person who passes away. Dedicated to pricing structure that is affordable for most people, and an indigent burial fund for those in need. We purchased the property the day after Yom Kippur of 2016, spent about two years fundraising and developing the property, and we consecrated the grounds on January 6th, 2019. Our first burial was a week later on January 13th, 2019.
We continue to be devoted to our motto, “Affordable. Authentic. Green.” We have plots starting at $3,600 with no additional fees and interest-free financing for preneed. We are authentic in the sense that we are true to tradition, that we will always care for the poorest among us, and that we will educate the Jewish community about the value, importance, and Mitzvah of burial (and how cremation robs us of all of that). We are “Green” because authentic Jewish burial has always been the most eco-friendly choice.
